Getting Ready To Go1_Kristen_blogs.jpg

Alright, let's do this. We're all sitting in the airport waiting to board the plane to Newark and we're all tired but excited to get this going. The last Dunkie run has been made for 2 weeks and we're a bit more energized for this. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty pumped to climb the Great Wall. Mr. Dunne's pictures from last year made it look AMAZING. Honestly, how many people get to climb the Great Wall in their lifetime? (...probably a lot but you know what I mean.) We've all already talked about the food issues for the trip and it's safe to say that among the 9 of us, we've packed an entire pharmacy. (Parents... no worries. Our stomachs are gonna be all set.) Rice and vegetables will probably be our favorite food by the end of the two weeks.

As far as traveling goes, the overnight train is weirdly very cool to me. I creepily went through Facebook pictures from past years and saw pictures from their overnight train. It looked like the train to Hogwarts...no big deal. You walk into a little cabin and there are 4 bunkbeds. All I'm gonna say is that I hope the overnight trains are still like that nowadays. When I told the group that I did that, I think I freaked them all out. I guess I'm the only that thinks it is SO cool.

Overall, China is going to be so different for all of us. We don't know what we have in store for us but it's alright, we'll take whatever we get. The language barrier is gonna be difficult but everything is going to be so different and exciting for us. Technology? Clothing style? Food? It's all gonna be different to us but learning about their culture is the whole point of the trip so we're all pumped.

Alright, we're gonna get ready to board. We've already told each other prom stories (sorry Allie, but you take home the trophy for the amazing one) and it has already been a good start. It's early but we're ready to go.

P.S. The Bruins better be available for us to watch... we're all STRESSING.

Cya all in two weeks!
